Welcome to Jaddell's Graphics

Deformation Tool

Use the Deformation tool to rotate, resize, skew, and distort layers, floating
selections, and images. You can use this tool in two ways: You can click its button
on the Tool palette and then use the tool directly on the image, or you can double-click
the button to open the Deformation Settings dialog box.
Notes: To use the Deformation tool, the image must contain a layer. You may need to
promote the background to a layer. You can apply deformations to grayscale and
24-bit color images. If necessary, increase the color depth of your image to make
the commands available. To deform a selection using the Deformation tool, create the
selection before choosing the tool.
To use the Deformation tool directly on an image:
1	If the Tool Options palette is closed, open it.
2	Click the Deformation tool button on the Tool palette. The Deformation
handles and guides appear on the image.
3	Move the cursor to the area to be deformed. The cursor will change shape
whenever it is over a handle.
4	Deform the image by doing one or more of the following:
·	Resize vertically by dragging the center top and bottom handles.
·	Resize horizontally by dragging the center left and right handles.
·	Resize horizontally and vertically at the same time by dragging the corner
	handles.
·	Rotate by dragging the center bar.
·	Change perspective by pressing <Ctrl> while dragging any of the 4 corner
	handles.
·	Apply a skew/shear effect by pressing <Shift> while dragging any of the 4
	center handles.
·	Distort (move the corner) by pressing <Ctrl>+<Shift> while dragging any of
	the 4 corner handles.
As the cursor moves over a handle, a rectangle shaped like the distortion
	appears.
5	To apply the deformation, either click the Apply button on the Tool Options
	palette or double-click the image.
6	To cancel the deformation, click the Cancel button on the Tool Options palette.
